Pelio Ski Resort, Greece
HEIGHT OF RESORT: 1471m | 3 KM OF SKI RUNS | 7 SKI RUNS
The Pelion peninsula, according to Greek legend, was the site chosen by the gods for their revelries and holidays. Endorsements can't get better than that and for today's Greeks the lush mountain scenery and clean beaches are still a popular destination. Jutting out into the Pagasitic Gulf between the two biggest cities of Greece Athens and Thessaloniki, the narrow peninsula rises, in half a dozen miles, to 5,300 feet. Instead of the stereotype Greek landscape of bare rock, parched earth and dusty villages, the area is green and lush, with fresh water gurgling from fountains and streams at every turn. The steep slopes are dense with apple orchards, sweet chestnut trees, apricot, beech and oak.

During the winter, the hillsides are cloaked in snow – Agriolefkes Resort, one of the highest points on mountain Pelion, is where Pelio ski resort is located, offering to skiers and winter sport lovers a breathtaking view of the Pagasitic Gulf and the Aegean Sea. Pelio ski resort is the only ski center where you can ski while enjoying such an incredible, immense view of the sea, which has made Pelio a very popular ski resort, despite its small size and low altitude. Pelio ski resort is an ideal choice for skiers who wish to explore a really unique and magical scenery, while enjoy an incredible view, apart from skiing.

Pelio, ski center, Greece: One of the first ski centers to operate in Greece was the center of Agriolefkes on mountain Pelio. Agriolefkes ski center is located just 2 km from the mountainous village of Hania, 12 km from the beautiful village of Portaria, and 27 km from the city of Volos at the foot of Mount Pelion. Agriolefkes is a very popular ski center in Greece, because it is very fortunate to be set in a wonderful picturesque region of Greece, where the mountain and sea live close together in seemingless perfect harmony. Apart from skiing, other winter activities can take place in Agriolefkes ski center including snowboarding and moutain artillery ski.

Agriolefkes ski center is located in a dense forest of beech trees at an altitude of 1,471m., i.e. relatively low for a ski resort, however the main feature of the ski center is the magnificent view offered to the visitors, having on the one hand the Aegean Sea and on the other hand the Pagasitikos Gulf. Simply imagine how often you would have the chance to ski coming down the snowy slopes, having an immense, panoramic view of the deep blue sea. In Pelion ski resort, this is feasible, offering to all winter sport fans a unique experience.
